‘Choose a patriot or an unholy alliance’

Hitting out at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, BJP national president Amit Shah on Thursday appealed to the voters to elect Prime Minister Narendra Modi again to take the country on a path of progress and development.

At a rally in Narsaraopet where party State president Kanna Lakshminarayana is fielded as MP candidate, Mr. Shah said the voters had a choice of choosing between a patriot and an unholy alliance which had no national interest. Saying the BJP-led government had crushed terrorism with an iron hand, Mr. Shah said a coalition government could weaken the country and make it vulnerable to external aggression. The BJP had kept its promises made to the State by completing 11 of the 14 projects. More than 20 Central institutions like the AIIMS, the IISER had been established in different parts and the State had secured close to ₹5 lakh crore as special assistance measure in lieu of the Special Category Status.

‘Women deceived’

Mr. Shah said Mr. Naidu had reneged on all poll-eve promises. He failed to create jobs, yet had his son Lokesh inducted in the Cabinet with three major portfolios, failed to create any permanent infrastructure in the Capital region and deceived lakhs of women by failing to waive off loans.
