More amenities at Duvvada by March, says DRM

Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukherjee inspected Duvvada Railway Station on Tuesday.

She inspected the parking area, booking counters, toilets and water facilities on platform 1 and 4, the track and station premises. The DRM interacted with passengers on the problems at the station. She participated in the cleanliness drive at the station to promote the ‘Swachh Bharat’ concept.

Ms. Mukherjee said that the station would be improved and more passenger amenities would be provided at the station by March 2016. Duvvada Railway User’s Association secretary K. Eswar and its president Maturi Srinivasa Rao apprised the DRM of the problems being faced by passengers at the station. They also sought provision of a halt to trains in Visakhapatnam at Duvvada, particularly, the Visakhapatnam-Mumbai LTT Express.

Divisional Engineer (Estate-2) Myleria, Additional DE (track) M.S. Rao, Station Manager in-charge N.R.K. Rao were present.

Members of SVS Seva Samithi participated in the programme.
