There was fun, adventure, and camaraderie at the recently concluded adventure-based experiential learning camp, ‘Summer Adventura’, organised by Protégé.
In all, 30 campers, four trainees and six trainers took part in the camp. The camp was attended by children in the age group of eight to 15.
The three-day two-night camp was divided into two parts — adventure and ELT (experiential learning theory).
In the adventure segment, campers were challenged to face their fears, understand and contain them while thinking strategically and practically with a cool mind to accomplish the task on hand. In the ELT segments, through various games and activities, campers were pushed to think out of the box ideas, beating the normal alarm bells that come out of routine thoughts, practices and habits, and made to develop their own methods, strategies or game plans to accomplish the task.
The base camp was located at Catherine Public School in Bheemli. After an encouraging response with the first camp based on the concept of ELT, Protégé is planning its next camp during the Dasara holidays later this year.
The organisation is also planning to conduct one-day events targeting social and professional groups, including students and corporates.
