A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her maternal uncle at her residence in the absence of her family members at Uppara Colony of Pendurthi here on Wednesday. The victim along with her mother lodged a complaint with the Pendurthy police. The accused, a 30-year-old S. Nooka Raju, a tractor driver, is at large.
According to Circle-Inspector K. Lakshmana Murthy, the victim along with her mother resides in Pedagantyada area of Gajuwaka where even her mother’s sister lives with her family in the same colony.
Since last two months, the victim, her mother and mother’s sister were staying at her maternal grandmother’s house at Pendurthi.
When the mother of the girl reached home, Nooka Raju fled the spot.
The girl informed her mother about the incident.
The police registered a case. Investigation is on.
