Lok Nayak Foundation Award for Meegada

Noted theatre personality Meegada Ramalinga Swamy has been selected for Lok Nayak Foundation 2018 Award. Announcing this, foundation president Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad said the award carrying ₹1.5 lakh in cash and a memento would be presented to him on January 20.

Supreme Court judges Jasti Chalameswar and Lavu Nageswara Rao will preesent the award on the day.

Every year the awards are given away marking the death anniversary of N.T. Rama Rao and Harivansh Rai Bachhan. Mr. Ramalinga Swamy is a playwright and exponent of mythological dramas and well-known for playing the role of Krishna. A lecturer in Telugu, he retired as Principal of Government Degree College at Amadalavalasa. He pioneered the genre of ‘Navavadhanam’ in theatrical form.
