Kalyanam to be performedat Ambika Bagh temple today

Marking Srirama Navami, Sri Sitarama Kalyanam will be performed at the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamyvari Devasthanam at Ambika Bagh on Sunday.

Kalyanam will be performed at 10 a.m. and ‘abhishekams’ and ‘homam’ will be from morning till evening, according to Executive Officer Pushpanatham and Trust Board Chairman Jerripotula Prasad. The Rama Navami celebration is being organised at the temple from April 11 to 16.Arrangements were made with erection of shamianas, water and barricades and for ‘annadanam’ for 5,000 on Sunday.

The Executive Officer said for performing ‘abhishekam’ ₹500 should be paid and for kalyanam ₹1,116.

Speaking on the progress of the construction of the temple, he said the construction with the ₹1.2 crore funds of Sri Sampat Vinayagar temple was going on. Installation of the idols was done in 2013. The temple is located on 2.7 acres of land donated by Rani Chandramani Devi of the Chemudu Estates. Construction of kalyanamantapam with GVMC funds has been completed and electrification is going on. Work on flooring for perambulation is also under progress.

At ISKCON

At the ISKCON temple at Sagarnagar, the kalyanam will be performed from 10 a.m. ‘Bhajans’ and ‘kirtans’ will be performed followed by ‘pushpanjali’ and distribution of ‘prasadam.’

Nitai Sevini Mathaji will deliver a discourse on the ‘Ramleela’ from 5.30 p.m. onwards. Bhajans will be performed and drama staged.
