Kalpana Chawla lab complex inaugurated

Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday inaugurated the Kalpana Chawla lab complex on the premises of the College of Engineering for Women, Andhra University.

The Vice-President planted a sapling at the complex to mark the occasion. He later went around the labs and interacted with students. He exhorted them to speak only in Telugu at their homes. While interacting with students, he recollected the days when he was the student of the university.

The complex with four laboratories was built at a cost of ₹2 crore for the benefit of electrical, civil and mechanical students.

AU Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao, Rector K. Gayatri Devi, Registrar V. Uma Maheswara Rao, College of Engineering for Women Principal M. Pramila Devi and others accompanied the Vice-President.

Mr. Venkaiah Naidu will visit AU English Medium School on Friday.
