HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has instructed officials to issue notices to owners of old buildings at Bhimunipatnam.

Stating that its development as a tourist attraction would not be possible with such dilapidated buildings in a state of disuse, he asked officials to issue notices either to repair them or demolish them.

During a visit on Tuesday, the Minister wanted Chillapeta tank to be cleaned up, its surroundings beautified and boating introduced. He also visited Jammi tank.

He asked officials to submit reports on the leaking agricultural market yard building and RTC Complex site.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao held a meeting on development works at Bhimili with Joint Collector G. Srijana, Municipal Commissioner M. Hari Narayanan and other officials. Houses should be provided to those living in huts on beach road, he told them.
