‘Indradhanush’ launched

The second phase of ‘Indradhanush’, a project to vaccinate children in the 0-2 age group and pregnant women was launched in the district at Yarada on Wednesday.

Collector N. Yuvaraj and MLA P. Srinivasa Rao launched the programme.

DHMO J. Sarojini informed that 979 children and 193 pregnant women would be vaccinated during the phase. During the first phase, 5,220 children and 1,213 pregnant women were vaccinated.

Collector’s directive

Later, Mr. Yuvaraj inspected the local ration shop and asked the Joint Collector over telephone to send the District Supply Officer to the shop and ensure supply of commodities when local women complained to him that they had not been getting their ration for the last seven months.

At the local ZPP High School, he interacted with pupils and made them read English lessons.
