IIM foundation ceremony put off

The foundation stone laying for Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam has been rescheduled as Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani is ‘preoccupied with some programmes in National Capital’, according to an official statement issued here.

However, the real reason is because the State government is yet has failed to complete the land acquisition process due to the apathetic officials of the Revenue Department.

The State government is expected to acquire the land and intimate the Centre on the completion of the process before the Union Minister could come for the foundation stone, Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu said.
