Huge haul of ganja

Around 350 kg of ganja was seized and two persons were arrested by the Prohibition and Excise police at Sankaram village of Madugula mandal in the district on Tuesday.

The ganja was cultivated in government waste lands at Sankaram village.

It was packed in gunny bags and taken as head loads to Bylapudi village for onward transport from there by vehicles, according to Deputy Commissioner M. Satyanarayana.

The ganja, packed in 20 gunny bags, was seized and J. Eswara Rao and M. Appa Rao were arrested while a third accused was absconding.

Investigation is on.
