The State has indirectly diverted the funds, says E.A.S. Sarma

Former IAS officer E.A.S. Sarma has sought probe by Comptroller and Auditor General of India into utilisation of funds sanctioned for Hudhud cyclone relief.

In response, Shashi Kant Sharma, CAG, informed Mr. Sarma said they would look into the issue.

Mr. Sarma in his complaint said the State legislature and the public at large were entitled to have a clear picture of the funds received by the AP Government for the purpose and the manner in which the same were utilised.

Public perception

Mr. Sarma pointed out that there was public perception that the State had indirectly diverted the Hudhud funds elsewhere, especially for meeting the extravagant expenditure on the grandiose capital city project near Guntur, the unapproved Pattiseema lift irrigation project and a few other questionable schemes.
