Historian felicitated

Noted historian and epigraphist P.V. Parabrahma Sastry was presented with the Mallampalli Somasekhara Sarma Memorial Award- 2015, at a function organised by the Mallampalli Somasekhara Sarma Historical Research Foundation here on Wednesday.

The 6{+t}{+h}volume of the book, ‘The History and Culture of Andhra Pradesh’, published by the Andhra Pradesh History Congress, and the books, ‘Police Administration during the British Rule’ and ‘Administration Law in West Godavari district’, written by B. Roja were released on the occasion.

A book on ‘Vaishnavite temples in north Andhra’ written by Soujanya was also released.

Responding to the felicitations, Mr. Parabrahma Sastry said that greater research was needed on the works of Mallamaplli Somasekhara Sarma. He was an authority on epigraphy.

Former Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University V. Balamohan Das, AP History Congress representatives J. Durga Prasad, N. Somasekhara Rao, K.S. Kameswara Rao, and K. Satya Murthy participated.

Secretary of the foundation B. Shankar Neelu read out the objectives of the foundation.

Earlier, foundation chairman K. Suryanarayana welcomed the gathering.
