“U. Srinivas was a master of his instrument (mandolin) and his demise is a great loss to Carnatic music world. May his soul rest in peace,” Carnatic maestro and guru Nedunuri Krishnamurthi has said in his condolence message.
“Music lovers of the city will miss Srinivas and his performance on the mandolin,” secretary of the Visakha Music Academy M.S. Srinivas has said.
Expressing deep shock and regret at the untimely passing away of the music prodigy on Friday, he recalled that Srinivas was an extremely nice person and never chased material wealth.
“He performed 10 times in programmes organised by the academy and never demanded anything,” Mr. Srinivas said.
‘Mandolin’ Srinivas last performed in the city in November 2010, he said.
‘Mandolin’ Srinivas enthralled music aficionados of the city and his presentation, stage manners, and behaviour with fellow artistes, organisers and audiences were exemplary.
He would remain forever in the hearts of every music lover, trustee and honorary secretary of the Visakha Music and Dance Academy G.R.K. Prasad (Rambabu) said in his message. “On behalf of Kalabharati and VMDA, I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved ,” he said in his message.
