Gold medal awarded

A post-graduate student of Radiology Department Raghavendra won the eighth annual Dr. E. Pedaveerraju gold medal for the best research paper in the competition conducted by Andhra Medical College Research Forum here on Thursday.

The AMC Research Forum conducts the gold medal competition sponsored by gastroenterologist Pedaveerraju for best research in investigative medicine for PG students of microbiology, pathology, biochemistry and radiology. This year eight PG students submitted their papers and Dr. Raghavendra won the gold medal for his paper on CT and MRI enteroclysis as a diagnostic tool.

The jury consisted of P.A. Jayakar (Microbiology), B.S.V. Sastry (Biochemistry), K. Dileep Kumar (Endocrinology), Rama Koteswara Rao (Pathology) and Anil Kumar (Radiology).

Two cash prizes sponsored by the Institutional Ethics Committee of AMC were awarded to Anil Kumar and Soujanya. Principal of AMC S.V. Kumar presented the gold medal and awards.

Dr. Pedaveerraju said gold medal would be sponsored every year by his son and film actor Vamsi Krishna. Chairperson of AMCRF Bhagyalakshmi presided. Chandralekha of Pathology Department conducted the programme.
