The State Government has issued the integrated G.O.M.S. No.388 for regularisation of unobjectionable encroachments below 500 square yards on government land in urban and rural areas.

While regularisation will be free for BPL families in 1 to 100 square yards, APL families have to pay 7.5 % of the basic value of 2013. For sites between 101 and 250 square yards, 15 % of the basic value had to be paid and for those between 251 and 500 square yards, 30 % of the value.

All encroachments above 500 square yards had to be evicted and the land auctioned, Collector Pravin Kumar said.

The Collector said earlier 23,093 applications were received and for 5,000 enquiry was carried out. Since the new GO was issued the applications would be converted into it.

Those living on encroached government sites falling in the category and eligible according to the conditions laid down may also apply afresh at “Mee Seva” centres.

In two spells, the government had so far distributed 52,610 house-site pattas during the year.
