Girls shine in AUCET

Girl candidates topped five of eight tests in Andhra University Common Entrance Test (AUCET) 2015 and also claimed the first rank in the AU Engineering Entrance Test (AUEET) 2015.

However, male candidates secured highest marks in the sciences and arts tests. Karthik Krish Manigowri was the first in all the science tests put together with a score of 88 marks, while Maradana Satya Rao with 90 marks topped all those who appeared for arts, commerce and management tests. Both belong to BC category.

Girls who secured top ranks are: Sepani Surya Kumari and Nakkina Mounika, both belong to BC category, in the life sciences and physical sciences tests respectively and Divisha Jain, Gollakota Sai Sailaja and Shabnam Syed in mathematical sciences, chemical sciences and English tests respectively.

Another BC candidate who secured top rank is Genji Subhadra Rao in the humanities and social sciences test. Prerna Gupta topped the AUEET 2015 (for admission into six-year integrated dual degree and twinning programmes in engineering). Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju released the ranks on Saturday, two days after the AUCET and AUEET were completed. Class work will commence on July 1. Rector E.A. Narayana, Registrar V. Umamaheswara Rao, Director of AU Directorate of Admissions O. Aniel Kumar and others were present.

The ranks’ lists were placed on the websiteswww.andhrauniversity.

edu.in/doaandwww.audoa.in. Candidates can download their rank card and web counselling schedule from these websites. The seat distribution of various courses will be placed on the website very soon.
