The ground is being prepared for the arrest of the mastermind behind the alleged gang-rape of two girls, three others, who allegedly committed the heinous crime and caught the act on their mobile cameras, and a woman who assisted them in the crime.
The victims, both engineering graduates, were working as marketing managers in a computer firm being run by the prime accused Srikanth at NAD Kotha Road junction. The victims had stopped going to work as they were not paid their salary.
Srikanth invited the two girls to his birthday party at his house at Papaiahrajupalem on Saturday night. Srikanth, his wife, and three friends – Srinu, Valli and Acchiraju – were present at the house at that time. The trio reportedly raped the girls. It was learnt that the accused had threatened to send the video clips of the rape and tarnish the image of the victims, if they complained to the police.
“Whether Srikanth was involved in the rape is not known as the girls haven't named him in their complaint. The mobile clippings are being examined,” Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) Barla Prasada Rao said on Monday.
Pendurthy Inspector Sheik Hussain is investigating the case.
