The fourth edition of ‘Vizag Going Pink’, a run to promote women health, will be organised in the city on October 27. With the motto ‘fit women for fit families’, the run focuses on helping women understand the positive effects of adopting an active and positive lifestyle.

Actor Milind Soman, who is supporting the initiative through his organisation United Sisters Foundation, told the media here on Monday that the multi-category marathon would be organised in 3 km, 5 km and 10 km categories.

“The movement of women’s health began in Mumbai in 2012 and it has spread to more than 60 cities in the country now. More women are now treating their health as a priority. If we envisage becoming a health conscious country, women health is important,” Mr. Soman said.

The run also aims at creating awareness about breast cancer, its causes and prevention measures.

The organisers are expecting over 5,000 women this time.
