FDNA collects reliefmaterial for Titli victims

A fund raising programme was organised by the Forum for Development of North Andhra (FDNA), for the victims of cyclonic storm ‘Titli’, on the Beach Road here on Sunday.

In a short time, beach visitors and residents of nearby colonies donated ₹14,123, apart from old garments, rice and other provisions. FDNA general secretary A. Aja Sarma said that the cash and clothes would be distributed to the cyclone victims in Srikakulam district.

FDNA chairman K.V. Ramana said that ‘Titli’ had caused huge losses in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts of the North Andhra region.

“The homes of several poor people have been damaged in the cyclone and people are in a helpless condition. Agricultural crops have also been damaged in many areas. The State government has already sought the help of the Central government and it’s time the later santioned ffunds or the victims without much delay,” he said.

FDNA Youth Wing convener USN Raju, LIC union general secretary N. Ramanachalam, president M. Kameswari, VARWA president BB Ganesh and AIDWA secretary Priyanka were among those who participated in the fund raising programme.
