Cultural events organised in run-up to AU alumni meet

A cultural programme was organised by Andhra University here on Wednesday in the run-up to the alumni meet to be held on October 12.

Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju inaugurated the programme. Students of the departments of music and dance and Pydah College participated in the programme.

Balladeer Vangapandu Prasada Rao too performed. A magic show was also organised on the occasion.

Registrar V. Umamaheswara Rao, Dean P. Hariprakash, NSS Programme Coordinator N.A.D. Pal, Sharon Raju, faculty of dance and music wings Anuradha, M. Sarada, K. Saraswati Vidyardhi, and noted dance guru Bala Kondala Rao were present.

Earlier, Prof. Raju, along with the Registrar, Rector E.A. Narayana, Principals and some old students, inspected the Convocation Hall, which would be the venue of the alumni meeting. He also reviewed the arrangements being made with Principals and HoDs, and members of committees formed for the event.

The programme is expected to be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Later, dinner would be hosted for the old students on the open space adjacent to the Assembly Hall.
