The 21{+s}{+t}CPI(M) party congress, being held for the first time in the city, from April 14 to 19 would provide direction to people’s struggles on several issues, State secretariat member of the party and general secretary of the organising committee Ch. Narasinga Rao said here on Tuesday.
Media committee
The congress here would be a significant one since it would introspect on the strategies of the party and its mistakes, Mr. Narasinga Rao said at a press conference held to announce formation of media committee for the meet.
The conference is being jointly organised by CPI (M)’s AP and Telangana State committees.
Committee chairman P. Bobby Vardhan, convenor G.S. Rajeswara Rao and member C. N. Bobby also spoke. In preparation for the all-India meet, the party will organise Safdar Hashmi memorial folk festival from January 31 to February 3 near the Gandhi statue opposite GVMC main office to honour the street play exponent who laid down his life for people’s movement against exploitation. During January, February and March the media committee will conduc seminars on people’s and workers’ issues, violence against women, reservations, liberalisation measures, Telugu culture etc.
