CPI dharna against liquor mafia

February 19, 2012 01:55 pm | Updated 01:55 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The list of ministers, politicians, and officials mentioned by the ACB in its report on liquor mafia must be made public immediately, CPI district secretary J.V. Satyanarayana Murthy said while addressing a dharna organised by the party in front of the Collectorate here on Saturday.

The dharna was held as part of the State-wide agitation by the party. Excise officials and Ministers invested in the liquor trade and looted the people along with liquor mafia by allowing the sale of liquor above the MRP, Mr. Murthy said. The liquor mafia made more than the revenue received by the Government through excise department, he added.
