Collector assumes charge as GVMC Special Officer

District Collector Lav Agarwal on Sunday assumed charge as Special Officer of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. He signed the file at his camp office. Additional Commissioner (General) of GVMC S. Krishna Murthy was present.

The term of elected body GVMC came to an end on Saturday following which the Government issued orders appointing Mr. Agarwal as Special Officer.

Felicitated

Former Mayor Pulusu Janardhana Rao and former corporators were felicitated by Minister for Infrastructure and Investments Ganta Srinivasa Rao on completion of their five-year term at a city hotel . Mr. Srinivasa Rao lauded their services stating like sarpanches at village level, corporators were the link between the administration and people in the city. He said throughout his political career he was associated with those working at grassroot level. In spite of their term ending, he wanted the corporators to continue their work and maintain their close relations with people. Government Whip Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao, MLAs Malla Vijay Prasad and Panchakarla Rameshbabu, former MLA S.A. Rahman, Congress leader Palla Srinivasa Rao and INTUC leader V. J. Ajay Kumar participated.
