TDP govt. had neglected GVMC, alleges YSRCP leader

YSRCP spokesperson Koyya Prasada Reddy on Thursday said Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would launch city-specific developmental works worth ₹3,000 crore soon.

“Development works such as drainage, roads, foot-over bridges, flyovers and parks will be launched during the visit of the Chief Minister shortly,” Mr. Prasada Reddy told the media here.

Mr. Prasada Reddy said works of such a large scale were being taken up by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) for the first time.

He alleged that the previous government had neglected the GVMC and Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (VMRDA).

“The government is keen on transforming Visakhapatnam into the financial capital of the State and a prominent hub for IT, tourism and logistics. Funds will be allocated under various heads for developmental works in the city.” the YSRCP leader said.

Poll promises

Hailing the leadership of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said the welfare schemes introduced by the YSRCP government was being emulated in Maharashtra.

“Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has fulfilled the promises made by him in the party’s election manifesto such as YSR Rythu Bharosa and increasing compensation to fishermen during annual ban period from ₹4,000 to ₹10,000,” Mr. Prasada Reddy said.

Party leaders Pakki Diwakar and Ravi Reddy were present on the occasion.
