Like how one empties a dustbin that is filled with trash, our mind too needs to be cleaned every day. Yoga helps us clean the cluttered, restless mind and provides a sense of direction.

The regimen has turned out to be a great stress-buster for 20-year-old P. Krupardha Sindhu Sai, who has been practising yoga for the last 11 years.

“When the cup is empty, you tend to receive more. Yoga trains one to empty irrelevant data from the mind. And that’s what ahs happened to me. Inspired by my father P.M.V. Kesava Rao, who is a yoga instructor, I started picking up the nuances of the ancient technique when I was nine years old. Another important lesson that I have learnt through the medium is to control my emotions. Doing ‘pranayama’ regularly allows you to switch off, which is very important to survive,” says Sindhu Sai.

Studying Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in Andhra University, he was recently shortlisted to participate in the International Yoga Championship to be held at Beijing. A gold medallist in Guntur District Yoga Championship-2007, Sindhu Sai grabbed first position in several competitions.
