“Every individual has a share in the making of a film. At present, there is a huge shortage of qualified technicians, especially after bifurcation of the State. And to fill the gap, we intend to launch a school,” he said.

To start with, the cinematographer will be offering a one-year course in cinematography, a three-month course for camera technician, and a one-month fast-track course in film-making.

The institute is slated for launch on October 3, and courses such as editing, sound technician, and digital imaging technician will follow. Mr. Raghu informed that talks were on with a few accredited institutes for validation of the certificates.

Film director and trainer L. Satyanand pointed out that learning from experienced teachers would play an important role, and Mr. Raghu fitted the bill.

Cinema hub According to industrialist and Congress leader Bolisetti Satya, post-bifurcation, Visakhapatnam is being termed as the cinema hub, and such an institute would not only help the industry find quality manpower but also create job opportunities for youth.
