Strike will continue until our demand is met, says chamber

In response to indefinite strike call given by the South Indian film industry, cinema halls in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will remain closed on Saturday.

Vice-president of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana V. Veeraju confirmed that all the theatres in AP and Telangana will remain closed for the second consecutive day. Indicating that the indefinite strike is likely to continue, Mr. Veeraju said the protest was to put an end to the monopoly of the Digital Service Providers who levy exorbitant virtual print fee per film.

All the theatres and multiplexes will remain closed until the negotiations between exhibitors and DSPs turn out fruitful, he said.
