CII EXCON trade fair to be held in Bengaluru from Dec. 10

Promotional roadshow in the city evokes good response

A roadshow to promote the CII EXCON, the largest construction equipment trade fair scheduled to be held in Bengaluru from December 10 to 14, evoked a good response in the city.

According to the organisers, the exhibition will showcase the role of smart technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and next-generation construction equipment in achieving the $5trillion economy target for the country.

Among others, CII Vizag Zone chairman K.V. Raju, vice-chairman J. Srinivasa Raju and Waltair Divisional Railway Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava attended the programme. “The 10th edition of the exhibition being organised with the support of Government of India and trade bodies will be held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre. More than 1,250 exhibitors from 25 countries will take part in it,” said E.L. Kiran Babu, General Manager-Marketing, Schwing Stetter (India) Private Limited.

Smart technology

He said that 35 roadshows were being organised across the country to attract good number of participants to the exhibition. “The exhibition will demonstrate the role of new technologies and innovation in design in manufacturing of next-generation equipment and machinery to support the rapid pace of infrastructure development in the country,” said Mr. Kiran Babu.

Economic slowdown

Answering a query, he said that the industry was expecting that the economy would become strong from the first and second quarter of the next financial year. “The announcement by Shipping and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on launching road projects worth ₹5 lakh crore in next three months and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s promise to pump in ₹70,000 crore to the banking sector will auger well to overcome the challenges posed by the slowdown,” he added.
