Centre sanctions ₹ 1.25 cr. for research unit at AMC

A Multi Disciplinary Research Unit (MDRU) has been sanctioned to Andhra Medical College (AMC) by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, under the Department of Health Research.

First instalment

The first instalment of ₹1.25 crore was released to AMC for MDRU project on Saturday. The objective of the project is to encourage and strengthen the environment of research in government medical colleges.

Chairperson of the Local research advisory Committee of the MDRU project is T. Ravi Raju, former Vice-Chancellor, Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada.

Dr. P.V. Sudhakar, Principal, Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, has discussed the importance of the involvement of the faculty of all departments in the project.
