Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital and Research Institute here has been certified by the TUV-SUD, South Asia, which is an international standard for occupational health and safety management.

The hospital is the first health care institution in Andhra Pradesh to receive this certification, its Chief Operations Officer Vinayak Venkatesh said on Tuesday.

“The hospital is providing comprehensive evidence-based advanced cancer care through its cutting edge technology and skilled man power to patients of all economic strata,” he said.

The hospital is also conducting cancer awareness programmes as its CSR activity and CMEs for doctors. Earlier, the hospital entered the Limca Book of Records 2015 in the category of a single institution gathering largest cancer survivors.
