Thirty-one judicial officers attend awareness meet

Principal District Judge and District Legal Services Authority chairperson P.V. Jyothirmai on Saturday said there was a great need for settling the disputes through mediation and conciliation procedures.

She was speaking at the meeting on awareness on mediation conducted by the Mediation and Arbitration Centre-Hyderabad on the District Court premises. Trainers from Hyderabad and Rajamahendravaram Manjira Venkatesh, Seeta Devi and K. Bhagyalakshmi conducted the one-day programme.

Thirty-one judicial officers in the city, panel advocates, retainer-lawyers of DLSA attended.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Jyothirmai said mediation was the surest way of resolving the long pending legal disputes. Large number of disputes could be effectively resolved when both the parties to the disputes come to an arbitrator and to solve the problems without any expenses saving lot of time.

She said arbitrator serves as comfort zone to both the parties when they come face to face with him and once they pour out their heart, decks would be cleared for quick resolution of the dispute. Visakhapatnam Bar Association president P. Balakrishna, Family Court judges K. Sai Ramadevi, P. Annapurna, Mahila Judge A. Varaprasad, Forum of Legal Professionals president Kuppili Muralidhar, trained mediators Ponnada Rajarao, B. Tulasidas, Kandala Srinivas Rao and others attended.
