‘NDA failed to implement promises made in Reorganisation Act’

CPI State secretary K. Ramakrishna has accused the new team of office-bearers of State BJP of spreading lies on the performance of the NDA Government in fulfilling the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

He was speaking at a press conference here along with State assistant secretary J.V. Satyanarayana Murthy, executive member A.J. Stalin, district secretary B.V. Ramana, city secretary M. Padiraju and party activist Vimala.

Mr. Ramakrishna said despite a categorical promise to grant separate railway zone for Visakhapatnam and establishing a steel plant at Kadapa in the government sector, Union Minister Railway Minister Piyush Goyal stated recently that the Act only mentioned about examining the feasibility of the two demands.

The sarcastic statements by the BJP leaders would not go well with the public he said and pointed out how the NDA Government had failed miserably in implementing its promises during past four years.

He wondered how BJP MP K. Haribabu had remained silent on Mr Goyal’s sarcastic remarks on railway zone and steel plant demands.

On programmes planned for birth centenary of Communist veteran Neelam Rajasekhar Reddy, he said they would hold a big meeting in Visakhapatnam on July 8. Similar meetings will be held at Anantapur and other places.
