BJP leaders led by party city president M. Nagendra and MLC P.V.N. Madhav on Monday met Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at INS Dega during her visit to the city and urged her to expedite permission from the Defence Ministry for shifting the wall of NSTL to make way for laying a bypass road.
The issue had come to a definitive stage owing to the efforts made by MLA P.G.V.R. Naidu and the process should be accelerated, she said.
The laying of the bypass road will provide a great relief to residents of Indiranagar, Lakshminagar, Susarla Colony, Madhavadhara, Vepagunta and Simhachalam, the BJP leaders said in a memorandum submitted to the Union Minister.
