‘Kaki’, with ‘a sound of warning’ as its tagline, is the debut film of director M. Manon who has the credit of assisting popular filmmakers like P. Vasu and Vetrimaran in the past.

For the debutant director, his first Telugu-Tamil bilingual film is going to be special in many ways as it goes beyond the typical blame-game concept, helping people lead a better life by realising their mistakes.

“Life turns out to be blissful when you are able to learn from your mistakes and move on. Kaki revolves around this simple theory of happy living where most people tend to ignore these days,” says Mr. Manon.

Besides, playing a plum role, Pathikonda Kiran is also producing the film for the first time. Apart from the port city, the shooting will be carried out in Puducherry, Chennai, and Hyderabad.

“The first schedule of the film will be wrapped up by this month-end in the city. Once this is done, we will move to other locations where the remaining shooting will be carried out in three phases,” explains Mr. Kiran.

While Bengaluru-based Meghashree and Ashok of ‘Muruga’ fame are playing the lead roles, the cast also includes actors Jayasudha and Nasser.

Excited

After Panchamukhi and Anaganaga Oka Roju , Meghashree is all excited to don a new role in Kaki .

“In my earlier films, I portrayed bubbly and fun-loving characters. Kaki , however, is going to be more challenging as I have to fight against evil spirits in the film. I feel I am fortunate to play such a demanding role at an early stage of my career. Moreover, Kaki provides the right platform to prove my acting prowess that goes beyond just dancing and romancing,” she says.

With dialogues written by Vinod Shiva, music scored by Amrith, story compiled by Ronald Raj S. Williams, editing done by Sasikumaran, Kaki, that has loads of suspense, horror, comedy, love, and sentiment in equal proportions, is expected to hit the screens in the next three to four months under Arpita Creations.
