A wife, a mother of two children, a Bharatanatyam dancer, a television artiste and a model, Valentina Mishra is adept in juggling roles with ease.

It is her impeccable multitasking skills that paved her way to glory bagging ‘Mrs. India Asia International World-2015’ in Pune and then walk away with ‘Mrs. Asia Beauty Confident – 2015’ crown at the international pageant held in Kuala Lumpur last month.

Born in Madhya Pradesh and brought up in Visakhapatnam, Valentina did her schooling in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Malkapuram, and completed her graduation in Gayatri Vidya Parishad Degree College. In an interaction with The Hindu , she narrates how her family members stood by her all the time, helping her connect with her dreams.

Basking in the glory of success, Valentina says, “Mrs. Asia Beauty Confident – 2015 was a highly competitive pageant where 33 contestants from across nine countries participated. And I felt extremely nice to represent India as a bride of Andhra Pradesh draping Uppada silk sari.”

Valentina says that women of Andhra Pradesh can make a mark in any sphere they step into as long as they are passionate about what they want to do. Her brimming platter also includes providing grooming sessions to aspiring models.

“Today, I feel I am not just a model but a role model for many, including my children,” she says.

The secret

Regarding the secret of her beauty, she says: “Beauty is not just skin deep. So, I am very health conscious and prefer to keep my weight in check. Women have to eat right and should take good care of themselves. In addition to this, I spend quality ‘me-time’ by engaging myself in a few things that I enjoy doing. It can be meditating or dancing or reading or doing exercise or listening to music. I recommend this simple technique for every woman as it works wonders,” she suggests.

Surprisingly, marriage never appeared to be a stumbling block for her to make a mark in the fashion world.

“In fact, my husband, regional manager of Indian Naval Canteen Service Commander, P.S. Ravi Kumar, my in-laws and parents have been supporting me all along. It is only because of their continued support, I am able to live my dream,” she says.
