Beach Volleyball World Tour from Feb. 28

The Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) and Leisure Sports Management (LSM), a Kolkata-based sports company, will organise the ‘Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Beach Volleyball World Tour, at RK Beach here from February 28 to March 3. More than 32 teams from many countries are expected take part. Visakhapatnam MLA (West) and A.P. Volleyball Association president P.G.V.R. Naidu (Gana Babu), on Friday said volleyball is extremely popular in A.P. and the Beach edition of this sports has even more followers across the coastal belt of the State. “We are happy that the city will host the first edition of the event with 32 leading teams (both men and women) from across the globe. We thank the VFI, the national body, and LSM, the sole promoter, for choosing Vizag as the venue,” Mr. Gana Babu said.

VFI Secretary General Rarnavtar Singh Jakhar said that after the successful launch of the Pro-Volleyball League, they wanted to introduce the beach version of the game which is extremely popular world wide in the Indian soil.
