NGO Chaitanya Sravanthi on Friday organised an awareness programme on segregation of domestic waste for women at Indira Priyadarshini Stadium.

Besides demonstrating the segregation and making compost, two bins each were given to women.

Lok Sabha member K. Haribabu lauded the efforts of Chaitanya Sravanthi in creating well-trained women to contribute for cleanliness and the credit for transforming Chilakapeta through Swachh Bharat would go to its president Shirin Rahman.

Former MLA S.A. Rahman said the goal of separating the waste would be realised only if it was turned into compost.

Ms. Shirin Rahaman said women should not neglect segregating the waste and handing it over to corporation personnel who come to their doorstep.

GVMC Additional Commissioner G.V.V.S. Murthy, Zone Commissioner Chakradhar, Chief Medical Officer (Health) A. Hemanth, BJP city president M. Nagendra, Swachh Bharat ambassadors V. Balamohandas, Kutikuppala Surya Rao and Uday Shirname and Usha Gajapathi participated.
