In order to bring a collective change in society, girls should demand their rights rather than wait for a revolution to happen. If girls are determined to realise their dreams, nothing can stop them from scaling heights, former Union Energy Secretary E.A.S. Sarma has said.

Addressing girls studying in Intermediate in A.S. Raja Junior College for Women at a seminar organised jointly by the Bala Vikas Foundation and the District Child Protection Unit on the theme ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ and to mark National Girl Child Day on Saturday, he said: “Girls are capable of making a mark in any field they step into. All they need to do is to identify their strengths, build confidence-level, and focus on their goals.”
