A group art exhibition with the works of the BFA students – Divya Chinni and Venkatesh Chadalavada from Visakhapatnam along with V. China Rayudu from Kadapa – gives a clear picture of varied thoughts and moods of the artists on paper and canvas.

While China Rayudu has come up with frames of live sketching, Divya Chinni tried to portray her favourite sweet Gulab Jamun and tiny jewellery boxes that continue to haunt her even now. However, the works of artist Venkatesh Chadalavada depict emotions. Most of his frames include different types of butterflies. “When a butterfly is in the caterpillar stage, not many would admire its beauty. However, once its colourful wings splutter to life, it becomes the centre of attraction. I could relate to the species well as its lifecycle reflects mine,” he reasons.

The artists felt that exhibitions give them an avenue to express their thoughts. “Indian temples and their architecture draw me close to nature. And that’s how I pour life to my live sketches,” says China Rayudu who brought temples located in Pushpagiri and Siddavatam to life with his detailed artwork.

Explaining her works, Divya Chinni says, “Simple things make me happy and inspire me to capture them on the canvas.”

A total of 25 works have been put up at the venue. The art exhibition, inaugurated by Mayank Kumari Deo, is on at Visakha Museum till Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The exhibition will be on till Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
