The Araku Utsav and Bheemli Utsav will be conducted during October, Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao announced here on Wednesday after conducting a meeting.

Araku Utsav was planned for May 23 but due to unfavourable weather conditions it was decided to be held during October.

The Bheemli Utsav would also be held during October since the officials said more tourists would be visiting the district during Dasara.

Neeru-Chettu

Since Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was expected to visit the district soon, repairs to the tanks under the Neeru-Chettu programme should be speeded up, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said at the meeting. Mr. Yuvaraj said repairs to 242 tanks taken up with an expenditure of Rs. 42 crore would be completed by June-end.
