APEPDCL signs agreement with Solar Energy Corporation

Taking the initiative to ‘go green’ on energy front, the Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) signed a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India, a Government of India Enterprise, in New Delhi, on Wednesday.

As per the agreement, Solar Energy Corporation will be supplying 20 mw of solar power to APEPDCL for a period of 25 years at the rate of Rs. 5.50 per unit, with retrospective effect from April 28 of this year.

The agreement was part of the phase two programme of Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission.

The agreement was signed by Chief General Manager of the APEPDCL B. Ramesh Prasad and Managing Director of the Solar Energy Corporation Rajendra Nimje.
