Anusha case: partymen’s action irks Vasupalli

October 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Visakhapatnam South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar, in his capacity as TDP urban district president, has reportedly issued show-cause notices to some of the party leaders in his constituency for allegedly leaking a conversation he had with some people including Surada Yellaji, the prime accused in the transgender Anusha murder case.

According to one of the leaders, the MLA had advised them not to dig into the alleged murder of the transgender and it was recorded and leaked to the media. The incident put the legislator in a delicate position and he apparently served the notices asking them to explain why they should not be suspended from the party on disciplinary grounds.

Mahila Chetana founder president K. Padma sent the audio clippings of the conversation to select media persons on Wednesday and demanded action against the MLA. APCLC district president T. Srirama Murthy demanded a CB-CID inquiry into the alleged murder of Anusha charging the police with dragging their feet under the pressure from the local MLA. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has asked ACP (east) Ramana to investigate the case.
