Two persons reportedly drowned while another person was rescued by the local fishermen at Vada Rambilli under Rambilli Police Station limits in Anakapalli district on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Sneha Ashish (30), a private employee, and Abhay Kumar (18), a sub-contractor, both hailing from Bihar..

Sub-Inspector of Rambilli Police Station Raja Rao said that at around 3.30 p.m., three persons, Sneha Ashish, Abhay and another person, entered the water at Vada Rambilli, from where they allegedly went missing. The locals jumped into the water and brought all the three out of the water. While they could save one person, the condition of Abhay and Ashish was found to be critical and even before the 108 vehicle could arrive, they died, the SI said.

The bodies are being shifted for post-mortem. A case was booked.
