Students and staff of Andhra Medical College felicitated five of their former teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
Those who were honoured are: Doctors R. Sasiprabha, Narsinga Rao, Satyanarayana, Sivaramakrishna Rao, N. Srinivasa Rao, Ramani and Bhavani. Presiding over the function, AMC Principal Kalpana Subrahmanyam recalled the services rendered by the former teachers and advised students to be loyal to their teachers.
The Superintendent of KGH M. Madhusudan Babu recalled his experiences with the awardees. Earlier, Dr. Sasiprabha, former Director of Medical Education inaugurated three water coolers donated by the Old Students Association of the College and promised to contribute to the development of her alma mater. Dr. N. N. Raju, Vice Principal, facilitated the proceedings.
Celebrations at GITAM
Intellectual engagement with the subject provides for better teaching and it keeps the classroom lively and prevents faculty from going stale, observed by GITAM University Vice-Chancellor G. Subrahmanaym here on Wednesday. He was addressing Teacher’s Day Celebrations organised by the University at knowledge resource centre. He along with Pro Vice-Chancellor D. Harinarayana, Registrar M.Potharaju and other senior faculty members, garlanded the statue of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor said the technological advancements are showing great impact on student’s mind particularly they are updating their knowledge through internet and sharing their ideas with others. In view of this the teachers must change their teaching pattern to attract the students.
