The pranks played by Lord Krishna to scoop butter from a pot, his ways of charming the Gopikas, his mischievous acts that bothered mother Yashoda, his special fondness for Radha, love for music, and dance were impressively presented in the form of ‘Krishna Leela’ that lasted for about one-and-a-half hours. With a fusion of western and classical music in the background, accompanied by perfect lighting, the dance performance was presented to mark Agrasen Jayanti organised by members of the Agarwal Mahasabha on Tuesday.

After a brief presentation of ‘Ganesh Vandana’, the venue came alive as Kolkata-based dancers transported the audience to a different world that portrayed the various stages of Krishna’s life. Hundreds of people of all age groups made their way to AMCOSA Function Hall to witness ‘Krishna Leela’ that unfolded mythological scenes with a touch of class. The platform brought the Agarwal community under one roof, treating them to a cultural fete that ended with a spread of sumptuous food. In the morning, the Agarwals participated in ‘Prabhat Pheri’ from Kali Mata temple to YMCA on the Beach Road.

“It is a special occasion for us to connect with each other and bond over music, dance, and food. The avenue offers a chance to strengthen the ideals of our community’s founder Agrasen Maharaj,” explain Anita Gupta and Abha Goel, members of Agarwal Mahasabha.

Men who were part of the colourful programme said that the community strived to succeed in whatever field they entered.

They said that apart from entrepreneurs who made a mark in their business, Agarwals made their presence felt in other domains as well.
