ABVP protests against poor conditions in hostels

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad on Thursday organised a protest at the Collectorate on the problems in Social Welfare hostels.

Among the main demands is raising the mess charges from Rs.19 to Rs.45, ensuring the quality of food, medical camps for students to address their health problems, and hygienic bathrooms.

City Sanghatana secretary O. Madhava Rao alleged that the conditions prevailing in hostels were deplorable and urged the government that they be improved with in a fortnight. Otherwise, a protest programme would be taken up.
