Youth found murdered

A 19-year-old youth was found dead with his head crushed near an agricultural field close to Korada village of Padmanabham mandal in the city limits on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as G. Ramu (19), native of Vizianagaram town. Ramu was an electrician and used to arrange decorative lighting for wedding and other functions for a livelihood. His parents are daily labourers.

According to Padmanabham Inspector Y.K. Kishore Kumar, some locals found the body in an agricultural field beside the road between Korada-Lingannapalem villages. The head of the victim was reportedly crushed and the police suspect that he was beaten severely and his head was crushed with a huge stone.

Though initially the body was unidentified, parents of the deceased approached police and identified him as their son. Police confirmed that it was a case of murder, but said that they have not got any clue and investigation is on. A case has been registered.
