YSRC demands scrapping of G0 290

‘Realtor cheated farmers of Mudapaka’

The YSR Congress has demanded scrapping of GO MS 290 that paved the way for land pooling in Viskhapatnam. The GO is being wrongly used by a few influential realtors and it is not in favour of farmers and land owners.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, YSRC city general secretary P. Vijay Chander alleged that N Venkatarama Raju, realtor, acquired over 300 acres from gullible farmers of Mudapaka.

He said farmers of Mudapaka grow crops on D-Patta land, which is not transferable. However, Mr Raju convinced the farmers that the government was in the process of acquiring lands under the land pooling scheme and he asked them to sell the land to him for Rs. 10 lakh per acre. He did not even pay them the advance money but made them sign on papers, the YSRC leader alleged.

Mr. Vijay Chander alleged that Badri Raju created fake documents of 20-acres of land owned by one R. Gandhi Reddy at Dabanda and tried to sell the land.

“If action is not initiated against the guilty and justice is not done to farmers, we will approach the High Court and take up a sustained agitation,” he said.
