Advisor to Andhra Pradesh on Metro Rail Projects E. Sreedharan here on Monday reviewed the progress of Metro rail surveys ahead of the final preparation of the detailed project reports.
Mr. Sridharan indicated that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for three corridors on a total stretch of 39 km are expected to be ready by the end of June.
Traffic and household surveys on commuting and geotechnical investigations required for preparing the DPRs were completed in the second week of May.
He made field visits to Old Post Office, a terminus of one of the corridors proposed passing through the congested One Town area, Sheelanagar, and NAD. The DPR designs would integrate flyovers at NAD, Satyam Junction and Maddilapalem.
The “Metro Man” had discussions on the progress and the surveys with DMRC Director (Projects) S.D. Sharma and Advisor, Consultancy Services, Pramod Kumar.
He asked the agencies carrying out the survey to check growth estimates before finalising the DPRs.
